Pavan K. Verma is Delhi educated lawer and memebr of Indian Foreign Service. He has served in New York, Moscow in Indian Missions and was India's High commissionar to Cyprus. Pavan K Varma also directs London's Nehru Centre (the cultural wing of the Indian High Commission). His India is complex, but certainly not inscrutable. He joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1976. He has served as Press Secretary to the President of India, the Spokesman of the Ministry of External Affairs.

For his contributions in the fields on diplomacy, literature, culture and aesthetics, Ambassador Pavan K Varma received an honorary doctoral degree from the University of Indianapolis in 2005.
